Start here — choose your bus Pick a model from the dropdown at the top and press Apply bus . That sets the usable floor length, width and ceiling, and greys out the areas you cannot build in (hood, cowl, engine bay). If your bus is not listed, or you have measured your own, type straight into Interior ft , Width in and Ceiling in . Coming from a page in the bus database, the right model is already loaded for you.
Snap and precision The Snap dropdown controls how finely things move — 1/2″ up to 12″. Work at 1″ for most of a build and drop to 1/2″ when you are fitting something tight. Arrow keys nudge by exactly one snap step, so a bigger snap makes rough placement faster.
Place an item Pick it in the library, press Add to plan , then click the canvas where it goes.
Move Drag any item. Arrow keys nudge it by the snap size.
Turn / rotate Select it, then press R or the rotate button — 90° per press.
Resize Drag the orange corner handle, or type W / D in the bar under the canvas.
Copy & delete Ctrl +D duplicates the selected item. Del removes it.
Walls Pick the wall tool, then click-drag. Hold Shift for free angles. Select a wall to stretch it by its orange end dots or the Len field.
Doors Pick the door tool, then click to place. W sets width; R turns the swing direction.
Mounting heights Open Driver or Passenger view and drag an item up or down to set its height above the floor. The H and AFF fields do the same by number.
Which side am I looking at US buses load on the right , so the entry door is on the curb side only.
Ext — curb shows that side, drawn as you would see it from outside with the front to the right .
Ext — driver shows the opposite flank, front to the left , with no entry door.
In Plan the curb side is the top edge and the driver side is the bottom.
Editing windows on the profile Open Ext — curb or Ext — driver and click Edit windows . The factory window band on that side turns into individual windows you can work with: click one to select it, drag it along the wall, or press Del to remove it. To fit a different window, pick a size from the Structure group, press Add to plan , then click straight onto the exterior wall — it lands on whichever side you are viewing. Each side is edited separately.
Removing a window opening Buses come with a stock window band drawn in the Exterior view. To customize it: place a Window symbol (several standard sizes are in the Structure group) where you want glass, and use the Blank filler to cover/delete a factory window opening. Both mount on the wall and show at their true height.
Mounting on or outside the wall Place any item in the Plan view and select it. In the properties bar under the canvas, tick Can mount on/through wall — now that one item can be dragged onto or past the bus wall (for windows, emergency exits, awnings, ladders). Exits, windows and exterior lights come with this already ticked. The Exterior view is a generated picture of the finished bus — you design in Plan, not there.
Measure a distance (tape tool) Click the ruler button, then click a start point and drag to the end. The length shows both beside the line and in the readout box in the toolbar, in feet-inches. Press Esc or click the ruler again to finish.
Zoom & pan Scroll to zoom, drag empty space to pan, Fit re-centers the view.
Upload a symbol Use the amber Custom Symbol Upload area. You agree to the terms, then it joins the shared User Symbols library for everyone.
Add something that is not in the library Type a name and its real width and depth in inches into the Custom item boxes, then press Add box and click the canvas. It behaves like any other item — drag, rotate, set its height. Use this for a one-off you will not need again; if you will reuse it, draw it properly and upload it as a symbol instead.

Why do I need to join to export? Drawing is free and needs nothing. Saving your work Save design keeps up to 4 plans in this browser. Export JSON is your real, portable backup — keep it safe and re-load it with Import JSON.
Print to scale Choose a scale and sheet size, then Export PDF set . It measures true in Bluebeam at 100% plot.
Cancel anything Esc exits any active tool and clears the current selection.
