The short version

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That is how the site pays for itself while the tools stay free.

What that does not change

Products are chosen on merit and every recommendation carries an honest drawback, because a roundup where everything is excellent is worthless to the person reading it. We do not accept payment for a favourable review, and a commission does not move a product up a list.

Prices

We publish price bands rather than exact prices. Prices change constantly and a stale number is worse than no number — follow the link for what something actually costs today.

Where disclosure appears

Guides containing affiliate links say so at the top of the page, near the links rather than buried down here, which is what the FTC requires and what an honest site would do anyway.
